ALHAMBRA
The Alhambra, or the Red (al-Ḥamrā), is the only Muslim medieval palace that has survived until modern times in the Western world, and this is due in large part to the affection later rulers had for it. Al-Ahmar, founder of the Nasrid Dynasty, originally settled in the Alcazaba Qadima (Albaicín). In 1238, he decided to start the reconstruction on the ancient ruins of the Sabika hill, thus beginning the construction of the Alhambra that we know it now.
This monument, visited by millions of people every year, consists of a set of palaces, gardens and a fortress that you definitely should not miss when visiting Granada.
