Excursion from Granada to Ronda
Ronda is a city in southern Spain, in Andalusia, that you can't miss. It is known for its stunning mountainous landscape and its cultural historical heritage.
Considered the cradle of bullfighting, in Ronda, you can find one of the oldest and most famous bullrings in Spain, the Real Maestranza. Built-in 1785, it is known for its unique design and its history in bullfighting, as the best bullfighters in history have performed here.
But undoubtedly, the most popular attraction in Ronda is its iconic Puente Nuevo: a grand stone bridge built in the mid-18th century that spans the Tajo de Ronda, a deep canyon dividing the city in two. From the bridge, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the mountainous landscape and the Guadalevín River flowing at the bottom of the canyon. The bridge has a height of about 98 meters and features an impressive structure with stone arches and a tower in the center.
The city also boasts an impressive historical heritage, including the Alameda del Tajo, a public garden with stunning views, the Palace of Mondragón, the Church of Santa María la Mayor, and the House of the Moorish King. The surrounding nature of Ronda, full of Celtic origins, contributes to the city being known as the dream city.
As for its gastronomy, the city is known for its wine production, especially for its red and sweet wines.
