The origin of Granada
The conquest of Granada was the turning point for the european society at the end of the XV Century and it is in Albaicín were we find a live testimony of this changes.
The Albaicín quarter is a synthesis of all the cultures that have lived in its streets, squares, and houses. From Muslims, Christians and Jews, to artists from the Romantic era and writers who found inspiration in the narrow streets of this quarter, everyone who’s lived here has added their spice to the unique charm of the Albaicín. Here, Moorish houses, the traditional gardens of the ‘carmenes’, old mosques converted into churches and arab palaces coexist with artisan workshops, traditional bars, family businesses and magical viewpoints.

What did they think of the visit?
We did the Albaicin tour and found it very enjoyable. Our guide was a young local who spoke excellent English. He was informative and entertaining and shared his knowledge of the area’s history. He answered all our questions and also took us into a walled garden to which we wouldn’t have had access on our own. Highly recommend this tour for first time visitors.
I did the Albayzin tour with Nacho today and it was a great experience! I loved the mix of history, local anecdotes, tips and interactions with the participants. Thanks a lot, Nacho, you definitely made me want to try the other tours when I come back to Granada one day with more time.
Alain was extremely competent, entertaining and amusing at the same time. The tour of Granada was very interesting due to the lot of things I learned, and also pleasant for the anedocts and different point of view of history that we were offered. I highly recommend this experience.
