GRANADA CITY CENTER:

Making a Lorca tour through the Granada city center means going through the last months of the poet’s life before his arrest and subsequent execution.

 

We will make a tour around those places that Lorca frequented during his youth and his return to the city just before the outbreak of the Civil War.

1. Huerta de San Vicente. Federico García Lorca Park.

Summer house of the Lorca family and residence where Lorca spent his last days. In it he wrote “Así que pasen 5 años”.
Entrance 3 € per person. Includes guided tour by the museum guides themselves. The interpretation of other guides is not allowed inside.
Morning: 9.30, 10.30, 11.15 and 12.00.
Afternoon: 17.15, 18.00 and 18.45h.

 

2. Mesones Street #5.

House where Agustina González López lived, a woman who inspired Lorca for his character in “La Zapatera Prodigiosa”.

 

3. School of Law. Old Civil Government.

Building where Lorca studied law and where he was held before his execution.

 

4. House of Rosales. Tablas Street #4. Reina Cristina Hotel.

House of the Rosales family, where Lorca took refuge and where he was arrested.

 

5. Federico García Lorca Cultural Center.

Center dedicated to the conservation and diffusion of the literary and pictorial heritage of Lorca. It aims to be the poet’s reference center.
Sunday open from 11.00 to 14.00. In the afternoon, closed.

 

6. Café Alameda. Chikito Restaurant.

Place where Lorca met with his group of intellectuals from Granada, self-defined as El Rinconcillo. Facade.

 

7. Cervantes Building. Cervantes Theater.

Doesn’t exist anymore. It premiered “Mariana Pineda”, with Margarita Xirgu in 1929.

Approx. Duration of the route: 2 – 2.5h.
